Sunny Deol’s iconic action film ‘Ghayal’ will return to select cinemas from August 7, ahead of the release of his upcoming film ‘Batwara 1947’ on August 14. Zee Studios announced the re-release by sharing Deol’s look from the film on social media.
According to an ANI report, the film completed 36 years on June 22, 2026. Marking the occasion, Deol recalled the making of ‘Ghayal’ and credited his late father Dharmendra’s belief and director Rajkumar Santoshi’s writing for making the film possible.
He also shared a video featuring memorable scenes from the movie.
Originally released in 1990, ‘Ghayal’ follows Ajay Mehra’s fight for justice and stars Meenakshi Seshadri, Amrish Puri, Raj Babbar, Om Puri, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Moushmi Chatterjee.
Deol received the National Film Award (Special Jury Award) for his performance.
The re-release offers fans an opportunity to watch the classic action drama on the big screen once again before Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi reunite for ‘Batwara 1947’.
