India’s Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman honoured the winners of the NDTV Profit Business Leadership Awards 2026, recognising business leaders and organisations for their contribution to India’s economic growth and innovation.
According to a NDTV Profit press release yesterday, Sitharaman spoke about the challenges facing the global economy, including geopolitical tensions, climate-related uncertainties and disruptions to energy and supply chains.
She said Indian businesses have continued to invest, innovate and create jobs despite these challenges.
At the awards ceremony, held in Mumbai on July 26, Dilip Shanghvi, Executive Chairman of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, was named India Business Icon, while Mahindra Group CEO and Managing Director Anish Shah received the Business Leader of the Year award.
Capt. Jagmohan (Retd.), Chairman and Managing Director of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, was honoured as Business Leader of the Year-PSU. State Bank of India received the Financial Powerhouse of the Year-PSU award, represented by Chairman C.S. Setty.
Godrej Properties won the Green Champion of the Year award, represented by Nadir Godrej, while Nykaa Founder and CEO Falguni Nayar was named Trailblazer of the Year.
BSE received the Wealth Creator of the Year award, Tata Electronics was recognised as India’s Atmanirbharta Champion, and Kiran Nadar was honoured with the Philanthropist of the Year award on behalf of herself and Shiv Nadar.
Shriram Finance won the Financial Powerhouse of the Year award, while Delhivery was named New Economy Leader of the Year. Sarvam AI received the AI Champion of the Year award.
The event was attended by several prominent industry leaders, including Noel N. Tata, Zia Mody, Raamdeo Agrawal, Nadir Godrej, Cyril Shroff, U.K. Sinha, Jayant Sinha and Ramesh Damani.
The winners were selected by a jury chaired by Bharti Enterprises Founder and Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal. Other jury members included Noel N. Tata, Cyril Shroff, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, U.K. Sinha, Jayant Sinha, Ramesh Damani and SBI Chairman C.S. Setty.
NDTV CEO and Editor-in-Chief Rahul Kanwal said the awards recognise leaders who are helping build stronger institutions, create value and contribute to India’s long-term growth.
