Acclaimed French filmmaker Jacques Audiard is set to direct a film adaptation of Jean-Baptiste Del Amo’s horror novel ‘La Nuit ravagee’ for Netflix.

According to a PTI report from Los Angeles yesterday, the project will be a French-language Netflix original and marks Audiard’s first horror film. The director is best known for acclaimed films such as ‘Emilia Perez’.

Set in the fictional suburb of Saint-Auch on the outskirts of Toulouse in southern France, the story follows a group of teenagers who are drawn to an abandoned house with mysterious powers. The house exerts a strange influence over them, leading them into a series of terrifying events.

The film is based on Jean-Baptiste Del Amo’s novel of the same name. Netflix has backed the project as part of its growing slate of international original films.
