JioStar’s complaint has led to police action against an alleged illegal IPTV distribution network in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district.

According to a JioStar press release, Andhra Pradesh Police registered an FIR on July20, 2026, after JioStar reported the unauthorised distribution of its television channels and digital content through an illegal IPTV application.

The FIR was filed at Phirangipuram Police Station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and the Copyright Act, 1957. Police have also arrested one person allegedly linked to the operation, while further investigation is underway.

During the investigation, police searched locations connected to the case and seized a mobile phone containing electronic evidence related to the ‘Star Share’ IPTV application, which was allegedly shared with local cable operators through messaging platforms.

JioStar said the application was being used to illegally distribute and monetise its copyrighted TV and digital content. The company added that the illegal service has stopped operating in the area following the enforcement action.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities looking into the involvement of other individuals connected to the alleged piracy network.

The action highlights the continued efforts by content owners and law enforcement agencies to fight illegal IPTV networks and protect copyrighted digital content.
