Actor Anya Taylor Joy is back with a new crime thriller series, ‘Lucky’, on Apple TV. In the seven episode series, she plays a woman trying to escape her criminal past, but soon finds herself caught in a dangerous fight for survival.
According to an AP report,the story follows Lucky, a skilled con artist who is betrayed after $10 million goes missing. Hunted by the FBI and a powerful crime boss, she must use her old tricks and survival skills to stay alive while searching for a way out of danger.
Anya Taylor Joy said filming ‘Lucky’ reminded her of working in the desert on ‘Furiosa’ and the upcoming ‘Dune: Part Three’. She said she enjoys playing characters who face difficult situations and fight to survive.
The series also stars Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Drew Starkey and Aunjanue Ellis Taylor. It is based on Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel ‘Lucky’ and has been created by Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas. Anya also serves as an executive producer on the series, marking her first time in that role.
‘Lucky’ premieres on Apple TV on July 15, with the first two episodes releasing together. New episodes will be released every Wednesday until August 19.
