Former England striker and Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has joined Zee 5’s expert panel for the FIFA World Cup 2026. As the tournament enters its knockout stage, Fowler will share match analysis, tactical insights and expert opinions with viewers throughout the remaining matches.
Fowler is regarded as one of Liverpool’s greatest goalscorers. He scored 183 goals in 369 matches across two spells with the club, making him the seventh highest scorer in Liverpool’s history.
According to a Zee5 press release, he also represented England 26 times, scoring seven goals and playing in major tournaments such as UEFA Euro 1996, UEFA Euro 2000 and the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking about the tournament, Fowler said the knockout stage is the most exciting part of the World Cup because every match feels like a final. He added that this year’s tournament has already produced several surprises, including Norway’s victory over Brazil, showing that every team still in the competition has a chance to make history.After retiring as a player, Fowler moved into coaching and management.
He has coached clubs in Thailand, Australia, India and the Middle East, including East Bengal FC in the Indian Super League. His experience in Indian football has helped him build a strong connection with football fans in the country. Expressing his excitement about joining Zee 5, Fowler said he is looking forward to sharing his views with Indian viewers and bringing fans closer to the biggest moments of the World Cup.
While he will be supporting England, he believes every remaining team is capable of producing something special. He added that the platform aims to make the viewing experience more engaging for football fans across India.On Zee 5, Fowler joins a panel of football experts that includes Oliver Kahn, Sunil Chhetri, Bhaichung Bhutia and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.
