The All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF) on July 2 met Chanchal Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, and Prabhat, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, to discuss key issues concerning India’s cable TV and pay TV industry and the future of the country’s broadcasting ecosystem.

According to AIDCF, the meeting was marked by meaningful deliberations, constructive discussions and a shared commitment to strengthening the broadcasting sector. The delegation was led by AIDCF President Anirudhsinh Jadeja and included senior representatives from some of the country’s leading cable and distribution companies.

During the interaction, the delegation discussed a range of issues impacting the Cable TV and Pay TV industry and exchanged views on the evolving media landscape. AIDCF said it appreciated the Ministry’s continued engagement with industry stakeholders and acknowledged the guidance and suggestions shared during the meeting.

The discussions also highlighted the enduring relevance of the Linear TV industry, which continues to connect more than 100 million households and reaches nearly 50 crore Indians with entertainment, news, education and public service content. Despite rapid changes in media consumption patterns, the industry remains a critical component of India’s broadcasting framework and continues to play a vital role in information dissemination and public outreach.

AIDCF reiterated its commitment to working closely with the government to promote innovation, safeguard consumer interests and contribute towards building a robust and future-ready broadcasting ecosystem. The federation noted that collaboration between policymakers and industry stakeholders will be crucial in ensuring sustainable growth and long-term development of the sector.

The delegation comprised Anirudhsinh Jadeja, President, AIDCF; Ajay Singh; Yatin Gupta; S.N. Sharma; Gurjeev Singh Kapoor Singh; Sankaranarayana G.; Sanjay Goyal; and Manoj Chhangani, Secretary General, AIDCF.

The members represented leading cable and distribution companies, including GTPL Hathway, DEN Networks, Fastway, Asianet Satellite Communications, Hathway Cable & Datacom and UCN Cable Network.

AIDCF said the collective leadership and continued efforts of its member companies remain instrumental in driving innovation, strengthening industry partnerships and supporting the future growth of India’s broadcasting sector.
