News network New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) has outlined a growth roadmap centred on trusted journalism, digital scale, artificial intelligence, global expansion, regional growth and a diversified business model, while reporting a 13.6 percent rise in revenue to Rs. 528.29 crore in the last financial year ended March 31.

Addressing shareholders at the 38th Annual General Meeting held on June 26, NDTV Chairperson U.K. Sinha said the company was strengthening its operational and technological capabilities across television, web, mobile and emerging platforms amid a global environment marked by geopolitical tensions, policy uncertainty and technological disruption.

He stressed the growing importance of credible reporting, saying, “In a world where misinformation travels at the speed of algorithms, verified journalism is not a service, it is a necessity.”

Sinha, according to an NDTV press statement, said the company’s global reporting footprint had expanded across major geopolitical developments, while strategic investments in newsroom modernisation, digital platforms, distribution networks and international expansion had strengthened its foundation for future growth.

He also highlighted the successful completion of a Rs. 396.50 crore rights issue in October 2025, which was oversubscribed 1.11 times and whose proceeds were fully utilised for debt repayment, strategic initiatives and general corporate purposes.

On artificial intelligence, Sinha said the technology offered significant opportunities in journalism, including research, transcription, data analysis and distribution, but required strong safeguards.

“Our approach is clear: leverage AI to enhance capabilities while safeguarding editorial integrity. Verification, accountability and human editorial judgement remain central,” he said.

NDTV Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief Rahul Kanwal said the broadcaster was focused on building “a new NDTV for a new India”, supported by stronger newsrooms, expanded programming and growing digital reach. He said the company’s revenue growth reflected steady operational progress as it scaled platforms, strengthened its core business and invested for future expansion.

Kanwal said NDTV had built a significant digital scale with more than 45 million lifetime YouTube subscribers, over 102 million social media followers and more than 40 billion video views.

He added that NDTV 24×7 recorded 127 percent year-on-year growth on YouTube, while NDTV India registered 1,521 percent growth. “At NDTV, across channels and screens, we are building a network that does not take sides. Every day, we mindfully bring stories that inform and impact without bias,” he said.

The company said it would continue to expand its regional and hyperlocal presence through NDTV Rajasthan, NDTV Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh and NDTV Marathi, while scaling marquee initiatives including the NDTV Art Awards, NDTV Food Awards, Ind.AI Summit and NDTV ProAm.

Looking ahead, NDTV said it would focus on strengthening its television and digital leadership, expanding global and regional operations, diversifying revenue streams and building new platforms across AI, learning, health, data and other emerging sectors.
