Hollywood star Keanu Reeves is reportedly in negotiations to star in an upcoming live-action hybrid Lego film being developed by Universal Pictures. If finalized, the project will reunite the actor with filmmaker Josh Cooley, years after their successful collaboration on Toy Story 4.
According to PTI report, the new Lego project will blend live-action filmmaking with animation, continuing the franchise’s tradition of combining imaginative storytelling with the iconic toy brand. While the storyline remains tightly under wraps, the film is already generating interest due to the involvement of Reeves and Cooley.
The project marks another collaboration between Reeves and Cooley after ‘Toy Story 4’, in which Cooley served as director and Reeves voiced the fan-favourite stuntman toy character, Duke Caboom. Their previous partnership was widely appreciated by audiences and critics alike.
The film is being produced by Jill Wilfert and Ryan Christians under the banner of The LEGO Group. The studio has not yet announced additional cast members or a release timeline.
Reeves remains one of Hollywood’s most sought-after stars, known for major franchises such as John Wick, The Matrix and more recently for lending his voice to animated projects. His potential involvement is expected to add significant star power to the upcoming Lego feature.
Further details about the film, including its official title, cast and storyline, are expected to be announced in the coming months.
