ZEE5 Global, the world’s leading streaming platform for South Asian content available across 190+ countries, has announced the premiere of its upcoming original series ‘Thode Door Thode Paas’ on November 7, 2025. The slice-of-life dramedy poses a thought-provoking question in today’s hyperconnected world — can a family truly survive without digital devices?
Set in a contemporary Indian household, the series beautifully captures the essence of modern-day relationships where family members live together under one roof yet remain distanced by screens and social media — ‘Paas Hoke Bhi Door’. But when this family is suddenly forced to unplug, they rediscover the lost joys of laughter, love, and togetherness in their chaotic yet endearing world. Produced by Manish Trehan, Shailesh Sanghvi, and Nailesh Gada, and directed by Ajay Bhuyan, ‘Thode Door Thode Paas’ features a stellar cast led by Pankaj Kapur, Mona Singh, and Kunaal Roy Kapur.
The series takes viewers on a nostalgic journey, reminding them of simpler times when conversations were genuine and family time didn’t require Wi-Fi. With a blend of humour and heartfelt emotion, the story highlights how stepping away from screens can bring people closer — because sometimes, silence speaks louder than notifications.
Kaveri Das, Business Head – Hindi, ZEE5, said, “We are proud to bring Thode Door Thode Paas — a story that feels both nostalgic and deeply relevant. It’s a reflection of how technology has reshaped relationships and what happens when that rhythm suddenly pauses. The show reminds us that distance and silence can often bring people closer than constant connectivity ever could. We’re delighted to present this refreshing and thought-provoking concept to our audiences this festive season on ZEE5 Global.”
Producer Manish Trehan shared, “From the start, Thode Door Thode Paas felt like a story that belongs to today’s generation. It’s a warm, witty reflection of a time when the real challenge isn’t surviving without Wi-Fi, but reconnecting with those around us. Working with Ajay Bhuyan and an exceptional cast — Pankaj Kapur, Mona Singh, and Kunaal Roy Kapur — has been an incredible experience. Each brought depth and authenticity to their characters. We’re thrilled to collaborate with ZEE5 Global, a platform that truly understands the pulse of Indian storytelling.”
Director Ajay Bhuyan added, “This is one of those stories that stayed with me because of its relevance in our digitally driven world. Thode Door Thode Paas explores what happens when the noise of constant connectivity suddenly stops. It’s not just about going offline — it’s about rediscovering what we’ve lost in the process of staying always connected. I hope this show makes audiences pause, reflect, and maybe even smile at how close we’ve grown to our screens and how far from each other.”
