In a rare and inspiring initiative that combines spirituality with social responsibility, Zee News is set to telecast the Sanatan Cricket League — a first-of-its-kind cricket event uniting India’s leading spiritual figures on one field for a humanitarian cause.
Organized by the Sanatan Nyas Foundation, the league aims to raise awareness and funds for flood-affected families in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh, bringing together devotion and compassion in an extraordinary way.
According to an official press release, the Sanatan Cricket League will air on Zee News’ digital and social media platforms on October 18 at 10 am, with a repeat telecast on October 19. The match will be held at Noida Stadium, starting at 9 am, where saints and spiritual leaders will take to the cricket field to spread a message of service and unity.
The proceeds from the event will directly benefit families whose homes and livelihoods were destroyed in the recent floods. The funds will be utilized to provide essentials such as food, clothing, furniture, and other daily necessities to those living in relief camps or struggling to rebuild their lives. By channeling devotion into action, the Sanatan Nyas Foundation seeks to awaken collective consciousness and inspire citizens to contribute toward rebuilding communities through compassion.
The league will feature four prominent Dharmacharyas as team captains: Devkinandan Thakur Maharaj, Founder of Priyakantju Temple, Vrindavan, leading the Vrindavan Warriors; Acharya Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham heading the Bajrang Blasters; Indresh Upadhyay Maharaj, Saras Katha spokesperson, captaining the Radhe Royals; and Chinmayanand Bapu, Ramkatha spokesperson, leading the Raghav Riders. The match promises a powerful blend of faith, unity, and humanitarian purpose — where spirituality meets sport for a greater good.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the initiative, Devkinandan Thakur Maharaj, President of the Sanatan Nyas Foundation, said, “The Sanatan Cricket League is a living example of faith in action. Our goal is to channel devotion into meaningful service by helping flood victims in Himachal, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. When saints step onto the pitch, it’s not for competition but for compassion.”
Zee News, known for championing causes that go beyond headlines, continues to highlight stories that strengthen the moral and social fabric of India. Sharing his thoughts, Rahul Sinha, Managing Editor, Zee News, said, “The Sanatan Cricket League brings timeless values of harmony, compassion, and collective purpose to the cricket field, where spirituality meets sport to inspire a nation. Cricket has always united India, and through this initiative, that unity gains deeper meaning — where devotion turns into action and belief into service.”
The Sanatan Cricket League stands as a symbol of hope, unity, and humanity — where revered saints trade sermons for cricket bats, turning faith into action and compassion into change. Viewers can tune in to Zee News on October 18 at 10am, and again on October 19, to witness this extraordinary event that redefines the true essence of spirituality and service.
