Zee Kannada is all set to raise the stakes in the prime-time fiction slot with the launch of its latest show, ‘Karna’, a deeply emotional and high-voltage drama that premieres on July 3 at 8pm. With its powerful storyline centered around familial bonds, sacrifice, and inner conflict, the show marks a bold programming move from the channel to further solidify its foothold in the competitive evening slot.
‘Karna’ follows the story of Dr. Karna—a respected gynaecologist known for his empathy, social commitment, and dedication to serving the underprivileged. Though raised by the benevolent Rama Krishna Vasishta after being abandoned as a child, Karna’s life has long been shadowed by the pain of not being truly accepted by the family that brought him up. His unwavering loyalty and quiet resilience face a daunting test when he’s caught between two solemn promises—forcing him to make a decision that could change the course of his life.
Television heartthrob Kiran Raj headlines the series in the titular role, marking his much-anticipated return to the small screen. His layered portrayal of Karna is already drawing early praise, supported by an emotionally resonant promo and a special track that’s gained impressive traction on social media. Sharing the screen is Bhavya Gowda, whose chemistry with Kiran Raj has become a major talking point among fans. Namratha Gowda, another household name in Kannada television, plays a strong supporting role that is expected to be central to Karna’s journey.
The show also features a strong ensemble cast including seasoned actors Nagabharana, Ashok, and Mahalakshmi Vasishta, who bring authenticity and dramatic heft to the narrative. Karna promises to be an emotionally rich experience, exploring themes of belonging, gratitude, duty, and love.
Airing Monday to Friday at 8pm, ‘Karna’ is poised to become Zee Kannada’s next flagship fiction property, offering viewers a mix of compelling performances and soul-stirring storytelling.
