YouTube has rolled out significant updates to its privacy request process, empowering users to request the removal of AI-generated deepfakes or other synthetic media that impersonates them.
This enhancement, initially available to music partners, is now extended to all users, reflecting the platform’s commitment to combating misleading or harmful content created using artificial intelligence, The Economic Times reported.
The update allows users to have more control over their online presence. YouTube‘s privacy request process now includes the ability for users to report and request the removal of content that uses AI to mimic their face or voice. This feature is designed to mitigate the spread of deceptive media that could potentially harm individuals.
“In order to request the removal of altered or synthetic content that mimics your face or voice, you can use our privacy request process,” YouTube stated.
