On Android, Meta-owned WhatsApp has announced a new feature that allows users to add descriptions to transmitted pictures, videos, GIFs, and documents, which is now available to some beta testers.
According to IANS, the feature can be useful if the present caption does not adequately describe the image or if you want to offer an alternative explanation.
The new description will be sent as a separate mail if you remove the old caption and replace it with your own. This will help guarantee that the receivers understand that it is not part of the original message.
Users can now add more context to the forwarded media they send by providing a brief explanation of why they shared the media as well as sharing their thoughts, ideas, or feelings about the content.
Furthermore, the report stated that after installing this update, some users may encounter problems displaying status updates and downloading videos. Meanwhile, WhatsApp’s recent Android version has made the “companion mode” functionality available to all beta testers.
Previously, the companion mode was only accessible to a small set of beta testers. This feature, which is an expansion of multi-device compatibility, allows users to attach their existing WhatsApp account to another mobile phone.
