Times Network has announced the appointment of Varun Kohli as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its news broadcasting business and he’d report directly to the Managing Director’s Office while collaborating closely with N Subramanian, Executive Director and Group CEO, Non-Publishing Business, Times Group.
According to the network, Varun Kohli is a seasoned media professional with nearly three decades of leadership experience. Renowned as the “Turnaround Man” for his ability to transform media brands into profitable ventures, Varun brings extensive expertise in P&L and operations management of broadcasting business to Times Network.
His illustrious career includes launching and revitalizing several successful media brands. Known for his people-centric management style, Varun excels in maximizing the potential of his teams.
Beyond media, Varun has played significant roles in sports management, notably launching and organizing successful seasons of the Pro Wrestling League and Big Bout Boxing League for iTV Network. His diverse background spans legacy brands, challenger brands and start-ups, reflecting a solution-based approach and strategic acumen.
Varun has held senior leadership roles in prestigious organizations such as iTV Network, Network 18, HT Media Ltd, and Amar Ujala Prakashan and most recently served as Director & CEO of Bharat Express.
