Actor Varun Dhawan’s much-anticipated romantic entertainer ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’, also starring Janhvi Kapoor, has locked its theatrical release for October 2, 2025, the makers confirmed yesterday.
The announcement was made through a poster shared by Varun on his official Instagram handle. The poster reads, “Varun Dhawan as Sunny Sanskari in cinemas 2nd October 2025,” confirming the new release date after multiple changes to the film’s schedule. Initially slated to release on April 18, the film was later moved to September 12, before finally settling on the Gandhi Jayanti weekend.
According to a PTI report, the film is written and directed by Shashank Khaitan, known for helming hits like ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ and ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. His previous collaborations with Varun have resonated strongly with young audiences, making this reunion a much-awaited one. With its quirky title and fresh pairing, ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ is expected to be a breezy romantic comedy with elements of family drama — a genre Khaitan is well-versed in.
While details about the storyline are still under wraps, the film is being positioned as a festive entertainer, banking on the holiday weekend to draw audiences back to theatres. The pairing of Varun and Janhvi, who last appeared together in ‘Bawaal’, has already created considerable buzz.
The film is backed by Dharma Productions in association with Mentor Disciple Entertainment, adding further credibility to its commercial appeal and production values.
