Truecaller, the leading caller identification software, announced on Wednesday that its Live Caller ID feature is now accessible for premium members on iPhones worldwide, including India, for the first time.
The service informs the user who is calling by using a simple Siri shortcut on the iPhone.
“We are seeing strong iPhone adoption, and we are constantly innovating within the platform.” “Our team used a lot of creativity to build this Siri-powered Live Caller ID experience,” stated Rishit Jhunjhunwala, Truecaller’s Managing Director, in India.
To enable this function, go to the Premium page within the app and select ‘Add to Siri’.
After that, whenever you receive an incoming call, simply say, “Hey Siri, search Truecaller,” and it will tell you who is calling right away.
The software will then immediately collect the number, learn more about the caller, and display it on top of the calling screen.
“This new feature is available to Truecaller premium subscribers on devices running iOS 16 or later.” It uses Siri Shortcuts and App Intents to give quick and accurate results in seconds,” according to the business.
According to the company, Live Caller ID with Siri accesses the whole Truecaller database, giving the same level of information as Truecaller on Android.
Truecaller has also improved its spam detection skills to better identify and protect consumers from unwanted phone calls.
Premium subscribers will receive automated spam list updates, whereas free users can manually update the spam list to maintain safe and efficient communication.
Users can now view and comment on spam-marked numbers as well.
“Incoming SMS messages will now be automatically classified as Finance, Orders, Reminders, Coupons, Offers, or Junk.” “This feature is now available for iOS 16 and newer in India, South Africa, and Nigeria, and will soon be available in other countries,” the business added.
Truecaller has over 338 million active users worldwide, with over a billion downloads since its inception.
