Tata Play Binge has strengthened its regional entertainment slate with the addition of two new platforms Ultra Play and Ultra Jhakaas further expanding its OTT catalogue to 36 apps.
The move aligns with the service’s ongoing effort to bring India’s most diverse content offerings under one roof, giving users a wider selection of Hindi and Marathi entertainment.
The new collaboration significantly bolsters Tata Play Binge’s language-driven lineup, appealing to audiences with varied cultural and regional preferences across the country.
According to a Tata Play press release, Ultra Play brings over 5,000 hours of retro Hindi entertainment, covering more than 1,800 titles across major commercial genres.
The platform curates vintage films spanning 1943 to the present day, along with web series, South Indian blockbusters and Hollywood films dubbed in Hindi.
The catalogue includes some of India’s most iconic hits such as ‘Krrish’, ‘Gadar Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Dabangg’, ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ and ‘Ghajini’, alongside evergreen classics from legends like Guru Dutt, Raj Kapoor and Rajesh Khanna. Ultra Play caters to the vast Hindi-speaking audience segment, estimated at over 600 million viewers globally.
Ultra Jhakaas, the Marathi-focused addition from Ultra Media, delivers over 4,000 hours of content across more than 1,500 titles, celebrating the depth and richness of Maharashtra’s cultural legacy. Its library spans Marathi movies, nataks, originals, dubbed South and Hollywood films, kids’ programming, music and TV shows, with weekly updates that keep the platform fresh.
Titles such as ‘Better Half Chi Love Story’, ‘Jilebi’, ‘Ek Daav Bhootacha’, the award-winning web series IPC and Saubhagyawati Sarpanch reflect Ultra Jhakaas’ commitment to nurturing regional storytelling and offering a broad spectrum of entertainment for Marathi-speaking audiences in India and abroad. Both Ultra Play and Ultra Jhakaas will now be seamlessly accessible through the Tata Play Binge app.
Commenting on the integration, Pallavi Puri, Chief Commercial and Content Officer at Tata Play, said the expansion strengthens the platform’s promise of celebrating India’s linguistic and creative diversity while delivering a unified entertainment experience. Sushilkumar Agrawal, Managing Director of Ultra Media & Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., added that the partnership enhances the reach of their extensive Hindi and Marathi libraries, ensuring that timeless classics, blockbuster films and original web series are available to a pan-India audience on a single platform.
With the new additions, Tata Play Binge continues to offer subscribers access to more than 30 OTT apps—including Prime Video, JioHotstar, Zee5, Apple TV+, Lionsgate Play, Aha, SunNXT, Discovery+, ShemarooMe and many more—through a single subscription and interface across connected TVs, mobile devices and set-top boxes.
