Bollywood veteran Sunny Deol is all set to return to the big screen in ‘Jaat 2’, the sequel to his latest action-packed film Jaat, which hit theatres on April 10 and has already crossed the Rs 70 crore mark at the box office.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Deol made the much-awaited announcement by unveiling the poster of the upcoming sequel. The visual simply read “Jaat 2”, with a cryptic caption: “#Jaat on to a New Mission! #Jaat2”. This teaser has already ignited a wave of excitement among fans who were captivated by the film’s gritty narrative and Deol’s intense performance, PTI reported from Mumbai.
The first film, directed and written by Gopichand Malineni, featured a powerhouse cast including Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Saiyami Kher, and quickly became a surprise box-office success thanks to its high-octane action, raw storytelling, and emotionally charged sequences. With Jaat 2, the collaboration between Sunny Deol and Malineni continues, promising an even more gripping sequel.
The sequel will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, both of whom have backed successful projects in the South and are now steadily building a reputation in the Hindi film space.
While details of the plot and cast are still under wraps, industry insiders suggest that ‘Jaat 2’ will dive deeper into the titular character’s backstory and expand on the world introduced in the first film. With Deol in full form and Malineni once again at the helm, the sequel is expected to carry forward the original’s adrenaline-pumping legacy, possibly with even more intense drama and action.
As anticipation builds, all eyes will be on the next announcements regarding the shoot schedule and release date. One thing is certain—’Jaat 2’ has officially entered the pipeline, and the mission is far from over.
