Sony SAB’s family drama ‘Itti Si Khushi’ has clinched the Best Show – Drama award at the Indian Television Academy (ITA) Awards 2025, marking a proud moment for the channel and the creative team behind the series. The win adds to the show’s growing recognition for its emotionally rooted storytelling and nuanced portrayal of everyday relationships.
According to a UNI report, ‘Itti Si Khushi’ has struck a chord with audiences for its sensitive narrative that moves away from exaggerated drama and instead focuses on small, truthful moments. Starring Sumbul Touqeer Khan, Varun Badola, Rajat Verma and Rishi Saxena, the show has been widely appreciated for presenting emotions that feel lived-in and relatable.
The story revolves around a family grappling with emotional wounds, unresolved pasts and the slow, fragile process of healing. It explores how love, loss and unspoken tensions influence relationships between parents and children, siblings and partners. Rather than relying on dramatic twists, the show draws its strength from understated moments, reinforcing the idea that happiness often arrives in fragments and quiet realisations.
Reacting to the win, lead actor Sumbul Touqeer Khan, who plays Anvita, said that ‘Itti Si Khushi’ was told with honesty and sensitivity, and the award feels like recognition of that intent. She added that every actor, writer and technician approached the show with emotional sincerity and expressed gratitude to Sony SAB, the entire team and viewers who connected deeply with the story.
Actor Sonali Bendre also took to Instagram to congratulate the team. Praising the creators and cast, she wrote that she was proud of Goldie Behl and the entire ‘Itti Si Khushi’ team, calling it an award that truly celebrates the heart and effort behind the show.
The ITA 2025 win further reinforces Sony SAB’s focus on meaningful, character-driven content that reflects real emotions and lived experiences. With ‘Itti Si Khushi’, the channel continues to underline its commitment to stories that leave a lasting emotional impact rather than relying on spectacle alone.
