Romance lovers, rejoice! The much-loved 2016 romantic tragedy ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ is officially getting a sequel, with a planned release on Valentine’s Day 2026. Directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru have confirmed that ‘Sanam Teri Kasam 2’ is in the works, following the resounding success of the original film’s recent re-release, UNI reported from Mumbai.
In an interview with India Forums, the director duo revealed that the script for the sequel had been ready for a long time, as the story was originally envisioned as a two-part narrative. The emotional conclusion of the first film, where Inder (Harshvardhan Rane) stands by the tree, hearing Saru’s (Mawra Hocane) voice in the background, was strategically designed to hint at a continuation. With the overwhelming love from fans, the filmmakers felt compelled to bring the sequel to life.
According to a Pinkvilla report, the directors also confirmed that most of the songs for ‘Sanam Teri Kasam 2’ are nearly finished, ensuring that production is moving swiftly. Given the soul-stirring music of the first film, expectations for the sequel’s soundtrack are already sky-high.
Fans can expect to see Harshvardhan Rane reprise his role as Inder, as confirmed by the film’s official social media announcement. However, details about Mawra Hocane’s involvement and the sequel’s storyline remain under wraps.
The official announcement post read, “Sanam Teri Kasam 2 is officially happening! After the epic love story of the first film, we’re back with more! Stay tuned for updates!”
With heart-wrenching romance, soulful music, and an emotional storyline, ‘Sanam Teri Kasam 2’ is set to rekindle the magic of the original and once again leave audiences teary-eyed. As the countdown to Valentine’s Day 2026 begins, fans eagerly await more updates on this much-anticipated sequel.
