Bollywood’s powerhouse performer Rani Mukerji is set to reprise her iconic role as fearless police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy in ‘Mardaani 3’. To mark the auspicious occasion of Navratri, Yash Raj Films unveiled a striking new poster for the highly anticipated third installment of the franchise, generating excitement among fans across the country.
The new poster, accompanied by the powerful chant of ‘Aigiri Nandini’, depicts Rani gripping a revolver, standing resolute in front of a barricade of Delhi Police officers.
The tagline, ‘Most Challenging Case’, hints at a storyline darker and more complex than its predecessors, suggesting that Shivani will face life-threatening challenges that push her to the edge.
According to an official report by Yash Raj Films, the third chapter of the franchise promises to retain the hard-hitting, socially relevant narrative that made the first two films resonate with audiences, while introducing a grittier, high-stakes plot. Fans have already expressed their excitement on social media, with comments reflecting anticipation for the action-packed sequel.
The ‘Mardaani’ series, launched in 2014, has carved a unique space in Indian cinema as the only female-cop-led franchise. The second film, released in 2019, continued the tradition of combining thrilling action sequences with socially relevant storytelling. ‘Mardaani 3’ aims to take this legacy further, exploring darker themes while keeping Shivani’s courage and moral resolve at the story’s center.
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, the film is scheduled for theatrical release on February 27, 2026.
