The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has invited applications from eligible persons for consideration for appointment to the post of Member (Finance) in Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India), a Corporation set up by The Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act, 1990. The post is scheduled to fall vacant on April 9, 2021. The President of India appoints a person having special knowledge or practical experience in respect of financial matters to the post of Member (Finance) in Prasar Bharati board on recommendation of a committee headed by the Vice-President of India.
The person so appointed being the whole-time member of the Prasar Bharati board shall be an employee of the national broadcaster and shall hold office for a term of six years from the date on which he/she enters upon his/her office, or until he/she attains the age of sixty-two years — whichever is earlier.
The Member (Finance) will be responsible for all the financial matters concerning the Prasar Bharati whose board is vested with powers for overall superintendence, direction and management of the affairs of the corporation.
