NDTV has unveiled its new flagship primetime debate show, ‘The Buck Stops Here’, to be anchored by Padmaja Joshi, Managing Editor and primetime anchor on NDTV 24×7. Guided by the theme ‘The End of Every Argument’, the programme positions itself as the most definitive conversation in Indian news, aiming to cut through noise and conclude debates with clarity.
According to a press release from the news broadcaster, the show will air every weeknight at 9 pm, focusing on issues that matter most to India — the choices shaping governance, the shifts in the economy, societal transformations, and India’s role on the global stage. With sharp questions and pointed analysis, the programme promises answers that do not leave room for ambiguity.
Rahul Kanwal, CEO & Editor-in-Chief of NDTV, said the launch is a defining moment for the channel. “ ‘The Buck Stops Here’ is primetime as India deserves it — rigorous, and uncompromisingly focused on what matters most to the nation. Padmaja Joshi brings an editorial depth and clarity of vision that will ensure this is not just another show, but the end of every argument; a definitive moment in the national conversation.”
Joshi, known for her direct and factual style, said the show will aim to deliver clear, conclusive takeaways for viewers. “I believe in being factual and direct on every issue and that’s exactly what we aim to deliver on The Buck Stops Here: a clear, definitive conclusion to every story, with no evasion and no prevarication,” she added.
The programme launched yesterday NDTV 24×7 and will air Monday to Friday at 9 pm.
