MIB spotlights startups, creators, tech at AI Impact Summit

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) has taken centre stage at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 — inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday in New Delhi — spotlighting India’s growing leadership in artificial intelligence across media, entertainment, gaming, content creation and creative technologies.

In a series of curated panels, demonstrations, startup showcases and collaborations, the Ministry’s pavilion at the AI summit venue Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi is highlighting India’s vibrant AI ecosystem — from homegrown innovation and global partnerships to narrative-driven digital storytelling and immersive experiences, while amplifying voices from creators, entrepreneurs and global investors, statements from from the MIB stated yesterday.

At the heart of Ministry’s engagement is the MIB Pavilion, designed as a dynamic space for dialogue and visibility on India’s AI capabilities. Anchored by the WAVES Creators Corner, the pavilion aims to bring together policymakers, founders, industry leaders and international delegates to explore how artificial intelligence can be aligned with India’s cultural diversity, development goals and media landscape.

Sessions are being live-streamed on public broadcaster Prasar Bharati’s streaming platform WAVES OTT, extending discussions beyond the summit venue.

A major focal point of the pavilion is the spotlight on Indian startups, with curated conversations and founder-led showcases across healthcare, media, governance, social impact and advanced content technologies. Officials, according to the statement, noted that this visibility positions Indian innovation not just as a consumer of global AI tools but as a creator of scalable, socially relevant solutions.

The WAVES Creators Corner is hosting structured panels, fireside chats and interactive sessions that delve into AI sovereignty, responsible frameworks, and evolving creative production workflows. The programme is curated by YourStory, amplifying narratives on emerging founders, women leaders in AI, and technologies tailored for Bharat and tier-2 and tier-3 markets.

In collaboration with Adobe, MIB is showcasing AI-enabled creative ecosystems that span interactive micro-drama storytelling, AI filmmaking and advanced content creation workflows.

A special screening of ‘Kathāvatār’ — a series of five made-in-India AI short films inspired by folklore — and a masterclass on AI, creativity and craft by filmmaker Shekhar Kapur form part of this creative spotlight.

The pavilion also features an AI Immersive Theatre, a 270-degree interactive cinematic space blending technology and narrative, exhibiting AI-powered storytelling and curated showcases, including finalists from the CinemAI Hackathon, reaffirming India’s place at the intersection of culture and innovation.

Beyond content and creative tech, MIB’s presence at the summit highlights AI in gaming and immersive media. Five Indian startups — including Yesgnome, Metasports (Hitwicket), Koyozo, Youth Buzz (Ourcadium) and Evivve — are demonstrating cutting-edge AI offerings ranging from generative art and real-time commentary engines to handheld gaming ecosystems and interactive human versus AI experiences.

A panel titled ‘The New Gold Rush: Investing in India’s AI-Powered Gaming Future’, curated with the Game Developers Association of India, is set to convene global investors and developers to discuss investment trends, AI-enabled production models and policy frameworks that will accelerate India’s rise as a global AI-native gaming hub.

Taken together, the MIB Pavilion at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 encapsulates the government’s push to integrate AI with India’s media and entertainment ecosystem — showcasing not only technological breakthroughs but also the creative and cultural potential of AI as a tool for inclusive growth and global influence.
