Hollywood actors Mark Wahlberg and Riz Ahmed are set to headline the upcoming crime thriller ‘The Big Fix’, bringing together two distinct screen personalities for a high-stakes, globe-trotting drama rooted in the dark underbelly of international football.
According to a PTI report, the film will be directed by Baltasar Kormákur, known for his tense and atmospheric storytelling, with the screenplay written by Guy Bolton and Justin Haythe. ‘The Big Fix’ is being produced by Kormákur alongside Peter Chernin and David Ready, and has already begun generating interest for its topical subject matter and strong creative team.
The story follows a former Interpol officer who has been sidelined into a bureaucratic role at FIFA. When he stumbles upon a vast international match-fixing racket, he launches a dangerous mission to expose and dismantle the network operating behind the scenes of the global sport. His pursuit leads him to a sharp and relentless hustler who teams up with Chinese Triads to manipulate football matches across continents, earning millions in the process.
As the two men begin to close in on each other, the film unfolds into a fast-paced cat-and-mouse thriller, spanning multiple countries and high-pressure confrontations. The narrative pits two determined individuals against one another, each driven by conviction and ambition, as the stakes rise with every move.
With Wahlberg and Ahmed leading the cast, ‘The Big Fix’ promises a gripping blend of crime, suspense and international intrigue, offering audiences a tense look at corruption, power and obsession within the world’s most popular sport.
