Director Vikarnan Ashok’s much-anticipated Tamil film ‘Mask’, starring actor Kavin in the lead role, is all set to hit theatres across the globe on November 21, the makers announced on Friday.
The film has been creating a strong buzz among Tamil cinema fans, especially with actress Andrea Jeremiah turning producer for the first time while also playing a key role in the project.
According to an IANS report, Andrea took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle to share the release date, writing, “The wait is almost over… Mark your calendars! November 21st #Mask.” Actor Kavin also posted on his social media, saying, “November 21 Unmasking #Mask,” along with a shoutout to “Team Mask.”
Sources close to the film’s unit revealed that Andrea, besides producing ‘Mask’, will reportedly be seen as the antagonist — a character portrayal she has successfully delivered before in Vetrimaaran’s acclaimed film Vada Chennai. The source added that Kavin, known for his boy-next-door and romantic roles, will be taking on a completely new avatar in Mask, as the film promises to be an explosive action entertainer.
Interestingly, the posters of Mask feature the phrase “Vaathiyaaraga Vetri Maran”, which initially led to speculation that director Vetrimaaran might appear in the film as a teacher. However, the release of the first single clarified that the award-winning filmmaker has not acted in the movie but has mentored the team during its making, guiding them creatively through the process.
The film’s technical crew includes some of the best names in the industry — National Award-winning composer G.V. Prakash Kumar has scored the music, while celebrated cinematographer R.D. Rajasekhar has handled the camera work. Editing is by Ramar, with art direction by Jacki and Vijay Iyyappan.
With its strong ensemble, powerful visuals, and a fresh pairing of Kavin and Andrea Jeremiah, ‘Mask’ is gearing up to be one of the most awaited Tamil releases of 2025. The combination of intense action, emotional depth, and Andrea’s dual role as actor-producer adds to the intrigue surrounding the project.
