India TV has unveiled India TV Speed News, India’s first 24-hour fast news channel in the HD segment, aimed at delivering timely, brief, and engaging news updates. This innovative initiative is designed for a linear audience, catering to the growing demand for fast-paced news formats, particularly among Hindi news viewers.
According to a press release, the launch comes in response to the evolving news consumption habits in India, where over 65 percent of Hindi news viewers prefer fast news formats. More than 30 percent of these viewers tune in multiple times daily, showcasing the shift towards concise, impactful content. The demand for high-definition content has also surged, with HD households increasing by 35 percent over the past three years. The NCCS A segment accounts for 42 percent of the HD viewership, and 78 percent of HD viewers are aged 15-50, reflecting a younger, more affluent audience.
Ritu Dhawan, Managing Director of India TV, stated, “With the launch of India TV Speed News Channel in HD, we are setting a new benchmark in the news broadcasting industry by delivering the fastest, most reliable news in a format that meets the needs of our modern audience. Our mission is to offer timely and accurate information while upholding the highest standards of journalistic integrity.”
The HD channel primarily targets viewers aged 25-45 from the middle to upper-middle class, who seek high-quality, visually appealing content. This audience shares a strong overlap with the Connected TV (CTV) audience, both prioritizing premium viewing experiences.
India TV Speed News offers a range of segments such as Speed 50, Speed 100, Duniya 20, Mausam 20, Sports 20, and Headlines, ensuring viewers stay updated with the latest news in concise, impactful segments. The channel boasts an average of 1.1 million monthly viewers on the CTV platform, with 6.8 million average monthly watch minutes and an average watch time of 13 minutes per viewer.
With this new launch, India TV Speed News aims to strengthen its position as India’s leading source for fast news, delivering high-quality content tailored to the fast-paced lifestyles of its discerning audience.
