Renowned filmmaker Gurinder Chadha has unveiled her latest cinematic endeavor, ‘Christmas Karma’, promising audiences a contemporary Bollywood musical extravaganza.
Inspired by Charles Dickens’ timeless classic ‘A Christmas Carol’, the film is set to captivate viewers with its unique blend of Indian cinema flair and Dickensian charm.
In a significant casting announcement, Chadha revealed that Kunal Nayyar, known for his role in ‘The Big Bang Theory’, will take on the lead role of Scrooge in this vibrant retelling of the classic tale.
Joining Nayyar in the star-studded ensemble cast are industry luminaries such as Eva Longoria, Billy Porter, Hugh Bonneville, Boy George, Leo Suter, Charithra Chandran, Pixie Lott, Danny Dyer, Bilal Hasna, Allan Corduner, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Rufus Jones, Eve and Nitin Ganatra, PTI reported.
Chadha, celebrated for her directorial prowess in films like ‘Bhaji on the Beach’, ‘Bend It Like Beckham’, and ‘Viceroy’s House’, will not only helm the project but also spearhead the production and scripting.
The musical score for ‘Christmas Karma’ will be composed by acclaimed British singer-songwriter Gary Barlow and Shaznay Lewis, promising to infuse the film with memorable melodies and soul-stirring tunes.
