Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal 5’ is set to release in theatres on January 8, the director announced the release date on Saturday along with a new poster for the fifth film in the popular comedy franchise.
According to a PTI report from New Delhi today,the film will bring back Ajay Devgn in the lead role along with several familiar faces from the franchise. Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor will also be part of the film. Akshay Kumar has joined the franchise and will be seen in a key role.

The ‘Golmaal’ franchise began in 2006 with ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’. It was followed by ‘Golmaal Returns’ in 2008, ‘Golmaal 3’ in 2010 and ‘Golmaal Again’ in 2017. ‘Golmaal 5’ will continue the franchise with many of its popular actors returning.
Sharman Joshi is also returning to the franchise after being part of the first film in 2006. Akshay Kumar, meanwhile, is joining the ‘Golmaal’ series for the first time. Details about his character have not been officially revealed yet.
Rohit Shetty announced the release date through a social media post, sharing the message, ‘Laughter, Fun, Joy, Happiness and Family Bas, Nothing Else.’ The makers also shared a new poster featuring several members of the main cast.
The new film will mark the return of the ‘Golmaal’ franchise to cinemas after almost a decade. It will also be the first film in the series to release outside the Diwali period. The first four films were released in 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2017.
‘Golmaal 5’ is directed by Rohit Shetty and is produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in association with T-Series. The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on January 8, 2027.
