On the occasion of Republic Day, the makers of ‘Gadar 2’ unveiled the first look of Sunny Deol, one of the film’s lead actors in the upcoming romantic period action drama.

The film, a sequel to the superhit 2001 film ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, will also recast original stars, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma.

The sequel is directed by Anil Sharma, who also directed the original. It is produced by Zee Studios.

The first poster for the film depicts Deol as the muscular Tara Singh wielding a large hammer amid the destruction, with the tagline ‘Hindustan Zindabad’.

During the turbulent times of Partition 1947, the first film followed the love story of Tara Singh (Deol), an Indian Sikh man, and Sakina (Patel), a Pakistani Muslim woman.

‘Gadar 2’ will be released on August 11.
