Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, amused his followers by changing his Twitter profile name. Musk announced on Twitter that he had changed his name to “Mr. Tweet” on the microblogging site.
The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX has also revealed that he is stuck with his new name because Twitter will not allow him to change it back. “I changed my name to Mr. Tweet, and now Twitter won’t let me change it back,” he wrote on Twitter.
According to IANS, Patrick McGee, a San Francisco-based tech journalist, the lawyer representing investors suing Musk over Tesla’s share price accidentally referred to him as “Mr. Tweet” in court on Monday. Musk, on the other hand, joked that it was “probably an accurate description“.
Several internet users have made amusing comments about the new name. “LOL Elon, thanks for the belly laugh!” “You are TOO MUCH,” one user commented.
It’s not the first time that Twitter has prevented users from changing their names. Last year, rapper Doja Cat changed her username and found out she couldn’t change it back. The musician then sought Musk’s help after changing her username to ‘Christmas’.
