ZEE5 has confirmed that Mammootty’s Malayalam mystery-comedy-thriller ‘Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse’ will make its OTT debut on the platform on December 19.
The film, which released in theatres earlier this year in January, marks filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon’s first directorial outing in Malayalam cinema.
According to a PTI report, the film is produced by Mammootty Kampany and features the legendary actor in the role of Dominic, a former police officer who has transitioned into the world of private investigation. Blending humour, suspense and a light investigative pace, the story follows Dominic as he navigates unexpected twists that arise from what seems like an ordinary case.
With Mammootty headlining the project and Menon stepping into Malayalam for the first time, ‘Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse’ generated strong curiosity upon its theatrical release. Its upcoming digital release is expected to give the film a fresh wave of visibility among streaming audiences.
ZEE5’s December slate has been building toward a busy month, and the addition of a Mammootty title is likely to draw significant attention.
