Bollywood classic ‘Dhadkan’, which originally hit the silver screen in 2000, is all set to return to theatres next week. The romantic drama, starring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Shilpa Shetty in lead roles, will be re-released nationwide, offering fans a chance to relive the emotional saga on the big screen once again.
According to a PTI report, the makers have decided to bring the film back to theatres to celebrate its enduring popularity and connect with a new generation of moviegoers. The re-release comes as part of a growing trend of digitally remastered classics being reintroduced to audiences seeking nostalgia and cinematic charm from Bollywood’s golden era of the early 2000s.
Directed by Dharmesh Darshan, ‘Dhadkan’ was a major box office hit and remains memorable for its powerful performances, melodious music composed by Nadeem-Shravan, and themes of love, sacrifice and redemption. Shetty even won the Filmfare Award for Best Villain for his intense portrayal of Dev.
Speaking about the film’s return to cinemas, trade analysts believe it’s a strategic move that taps into audiences’ emotional connection with beloved Bollywood titles.
