BIG FM, one of India’s leading radio networks, has launched ‘BIG Ramayana’, an innovative audio-video series that brings the timeless tale of Lord Ram to life through a modern, tech-driven format.
Narrated by popular actor Saurabh Raaj Jain, the series aims to make the revered Indian epic more accessible and engaging for younger audiences through an immersive, bite-sized storytelling experience. The first episode premiered on October 20, 2025, marking the beginning of an ambitious new chapter in digital mythology.
According to a press release, ‘BIG Ramayana’ is designed to retell the legend of Lord Ram in a way that resonates with today’s generation blending traditional storytelling with new-age technology. Alongside its premiere, BIG FM also unveiled the ‘BIG Ramayana Anthem Song’, a soulful musical tribute capturing the essence of dharma, devotion, and timeless storytelling.
The series uses artificial intelligence to reimagine the epic through AI-generated reels and audio formats, merging the grandeur of mythology with the pace and style of modern content consumption. It features an engaging mix of radio audio dramas, podcast episodes, celebrity-led capsules, RJ specials, and trivia snippets. This multi-format approach not only preserves the sanctity of the Ramayana but also brings it closer to the Gen Z audience that primarily consumes short-form, visually rich content on social media.
Commenting on the initiative, Sunil Kumaran, CEO of BIG FM, said, “At BIG FM, our audience has always been at the heart of every innovation we undertake. Deep-rooted storytelling remains our top priority; it enables us to deliver creative, meaningful content while opening up new opportunities for our clients. BIG Ramayana embodies our belief in the power of impactful storytelling when tradition meets innovation. This first-ever initiative strengthens our commitment to pushing creative boundaries and delivering tech-driven experiences that connect deeply with our listeners.”
Echoing the same sentiment, Atul Razdan, Chief Marketing & Product Officer at BIG FM, added, “We’ve always strived to create contemporary formats that resonate with today’s audiences while staying rooted in our philosophy of ‘Dhun Badal Ke Toh Dekho.’ With BIG Ramayana, an industry-first AI-driven storytelling experience, we aim to help Gen Z connect with and rediscover the magnificence of our timeless tales in a format that truly speaks to them.”
Listeners can catch the AI-enhanced episodes on BIG FM’s official social media platforms and tune in every Monday to Friday at 8 am, with a repeat telecast at 9 pm. The show is also available for streaming on leading audio platforms including Spotify, JioSaavn, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Prime Music, and Gaana.
