After playing a pivotal role in shaping India’s digital advertising and commerce ecosystem for over a decade, Atique Kazi has stepped down from WPP Media, drawing the curtain on a 13-year journey with the global advertising major.
Kazi’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter not just for him, but also for WPP Media and GroupM in India, where he was instrumental in building and scaling data, performance, commerce and emerging technology capabilities at a time when the Indian advertising market was undergoing rapid transformation.
Reflecting on his journey, Kazi described his time at WPP as a “very special chapter”, shaped by the people he worked with, the culture he was part of, and the timing that allowed meaningful innovation to take root.
Most recently, Kazi served as President – E-commerce, Performance and Digital Products for India at WPP Media, a role he assumed in 2021. Prior to that, he spent nearly eight years with Xaxis, including key stints as Managing Director in India and Vice President for New Business in Singapore, where he helped scale programmatic offerings across markets.
In his farewell note, Kazi expressed gratitude to colleagues, mentors, clients and partners across the WPP network for their trust and collaboration. He reserved special praise for his teams, crediting them for turning ambitious ideas into scalable products that delivered consistent impact for clients, while keeping the workplace energised and human.
