Arijit Singh tops Spotify India Wrapped 2025 for 7th straight year

Spotify has released its much-anticipated Wrapped 2025, revealing the artists, songs and podcasts that defined the country’s listening habits this year.

For the seventh year in a row, Arijit Singh has emerged as India’s most-streamed artist on the platform — a feat that underscores his unmatched dominance in the country’s music landscape.

According to The Economic Times, despite topping the artist charts yet again, none of Arijit’s tracks managed to break into the top five most-streamed songs of the year.

The honour of India’s most-streamed song for 2025 went to ‘Raanjhan’ from ‘Do Patti’, composed by Sachet-Parampara, which pulled in an impressive 246 million streams. Romance continued to remain the country’s favourite genre, with several love ballads securing top positions. Arijit still made his presence felt with ‘Apna Bana Le’, his feature with Sachin-Jigar, which took the eighth spot on the list.

Spotify’s Top Artists list this year reflects a mix of evergreen legends and contemporary stars. Arijit leads the chart, followed by Pritam and Shreya Ghoshal. A.R. Rahman and Anirudh Ravichander rounded out the top five, while the rest of the top ten included names such as Sachin-Jigar, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Tanishk Bagchi and Masoom Sharma. The rankings highlight a blend of nostalgia and new-age music, suggesting that iconic voices continue to command loyalty even as fresh sounds gain popularity.

The Top Songs of 2025 list carried a diverse mix — from indie tracks and new-age love songs to recreated classics and soulful ballads. Besides ‘Raanjhan’, tracks like ‘Finding Her’, ‘Saiyaara’, ‘Sahiba’, and ‘Ishq’ captured listeners’ attention throughout the year.

The album charts were similarly varied, with Tanishk Bagchi’s ‘Saiyaara’ securing the top position, followed by timeless favourites such as ‘Aashiqui 2’ and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. Karan Aujla also made a strong impact with two entries — ‘P-POP CULTURE’ and Making Memories.

Meanwhile, podcasts continued to see massive growth, with Indian listeners gravitating towards true crime, horror, self-improvement and mythology. ‘Figuring Out’ with Raj Shamani topped the podcast charts, followed by shows like ‘The Horror Show’ by Khooni Monday, ‘The Desi Crime Podcast’ and ‘The Stories of Mahabharata’. The mix shows that audiences increasingly seek a combination of thrill, learning and cultural storytelling.

Wrapped 2025 also introduced several new features, making the experience more interactive. Users can now explore personalised insights such as their top genres, take the Top Song Quiz, track how their favourite artists rose or fell month-by-month, and even view a detailed breakdown of how many times each song was streamed. The new Wrapped Party feature lets friends compare their musical tastes, while the Listening Archive uses AI to highlight memorable moments from their year in music.

“This year, you can experience your Wrapped, your way — with the ability to control the speed of your experience and revisit specific moments without starting from the beginning,” Spotify said.

Spotify Wrapped continues to evolve each year, but one thing remains unchanged: India’s deep and enduring love for music — with Arijit Singh still sitting firmly at the top of the throne.
