Amit Khare, Secretary to India’s Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan, has been assigned additional charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sansad TV, marking another key administrative move within the Parliament’s broadcast arm.
According to a notification issued by the Parliament of India, the governing council of Sansad TV has approved the appointment, stating that Khare will hold the additional charge “with immediate effect and until further orders.” This development, reported by The Tribune, comes as Khare steps in to replace Lok Sabha Secretary General Utpal Kumar Singh, whose extended tenure in the Lok Sabha Secretariat is set to conclude next month.
Khare, a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Jharkhand cadre, has held several prominent roles in the Union government, including Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Secretary of Higher Education. He also served as Advisor to the Prime Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), bringing with him years of experience in media, education, and governance.
