Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) Secretary Sanjay Jaju while admitting that artificial intelligence would act as a big disruptor for India’s media and entertainment sector, yesterday said AI would also “democratize storytelling” leading to the country adding further to its soft power.
Speaking on the sidelines of the ongoing AI Impact Summit in New Delhi to All India Radio News, Jaju said, “The media and entertainment segment in the entire creator economy has huge disruptions coming in from artificial intelligence, with many positives.
“We can see how AI is transforming the entire art of storytelling. It is going to provide a huge platform and opportunity for our storytellers across the length and breadth of our country.”
Jaju was visiting his ministry’s pavilion at the AI summit, which has been positioned as a hub for creative talent interfacing with artificial intelligence to create something beautiful and futuristic.
“I saw films in the WAVES Creators’ Corner (at the Summit), and I have seen the kind of films made by young creators who do not have access to funds and who do not have access to studios, yet are able to tell their stories through technology available through AI. It is a huge positive for the segment,” the senior official asserted to AIR News, which posted the comments on X.
According to Jaju, “It (artificial intelligence) is going to democratize storytelling. Many storytellers who were not able to convey their stories due to a lack of money can take their stories globally and can further the soft power of India.”

MIB Pavilion As AI Innovation Workspace: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting yesterday in an official statement said its dedicated pavilion at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi has emerged as a major AI innovation workspace, showcasing cutting-edge applications from global and Indian technology players and offering hands-on experiences at the WAVES Creators’ Corner.
The pavilion’s exhibits and interactive zones highlight developments in AI gaming, content creation, newsroom automation and immersive media, underscoring the growing role of artificial intelligence in the media and entertainment sector.
The ministry said the pavilion is designed to demonstrate real-world, transformative AI use cases across the AVGC-XR (Animation, VFX, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality) ecosystem. It serves as a fully operational innovation space where visitors can engage with participating startups and technology demonstrators.
Among the key experience zones, the AI Gaming Lab enabled visitors to witness AI-powered game development from conceptualisation to playable prototypes in real time, with interactive engagements planned through the summit’s duration.
The AI Content Creation Lab, powered by Adobe, offers a live studio setup in which prompts were transformed into scripts, visuals and cinematic sequences, showcasing how AI can redefine digital storytelling and creative workflows.
An AI-Powered Newsroom installation — featuring technology from AWS, BharatGen, India Today, and Kalasetu — demonstrated how AI agents can streamline operations, from automated content generation to voice-command editorial management, signaling potential future newsroom efficiencies.
Visitors can also experience an interactive Narad Muni installation using AI-powered language models to convert real-world questions into dynamic conversational interactions. The AI Theatre space screens about 150 AI-generated films curated by NFDC, LTIMindtree and Adobe, offering a cinematic perspective on AI’s creative impact.
The YourStory Lounge hosts fireside conversations on innovation and entrepreneurship in AI, moderated by Shraddha Sharma, while the pavilion’s booth highlights showcases a range of innovative technologies — from AI-enabled translation and dubbing by Sony Research India to India’s first slate of AI-powered micro-dramas launched by Kuku FM.
In addition to demos and exhibits, the pavilion is the venue for panel discussions and masterclasses focusing on AI-led disruptions in gaming, cinema, newsroom automation and ethical frameworks. Sessions include practical demonstrations, real-world case studies and live Q&A interactions, with noted filmmaker Shekhar Kapur leading one of the masterclass segments. These engagements are scheduled to continue over the coming days of the summit.
