Marvel fans in India have a reason to celebrate as ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, starring Tom Holland, is set to arrive in Indian cinemas on July 30, a day ahead of its worldwide release on July 31. The announcement was made by Sony Pictures Entertainment India yesterday
The upcoming film marks the fourth installment in the standalone ‘Spider-Man’ franchise led by Holland and is one of the most anticipated superhero releases of the year.
The studio confirmed that the movie will be released across premium large-format screens in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Audiences will also have the option of watching the film in both 2D and 3D formats.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, best known for Marvel’s ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’, the film continues the journey of Peter Parker following the dramatic events of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. While plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to explore a new chapter in Parker’s life after the world’s memory of his identity was erased
Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Zendaya returning as MJ and Jacob Batalon back as Ned Leeds. The film also features actor Sadie Sink in a key role, although details about her character have not yet been revealed.
The decision to release the film a day early in India reflects the country’s growing importance as a major market for Hollywood tentpole releases.
