Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh paid a heartfelt tribute to some of the biggest names in Punjabi music before taking the stage at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Ahead of his performance, Diljit said his success today is possible because of the contribution and hard work of legendary artists such as Amar Singh Chamkila, Gurdas Maan, Lal Chand Yamla Jatt, Surinder Shinda, Kuldeep Manak and Mohammad Sadiq. He credited these icons with helping punjabi music reach audiences across generations reported by IANS.

Addressing the crowd, Diljit said every Punjabi artist who contributed to the growth of Punjabi music was present with him in spirit. He then performed the popular song ‘Pehle Lalkare’ from his film ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’.

The singer’s gesture was widely appreciated by fans, who praised him for honouring Punjabi music legends on an international stage like Madison Square Garden.

On the work front, Diljit will next be seen in the upcoming film ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’, directed by Imtiaz Ali.
