Fans of the ‘Resident Evil’ franchise have a reason to celebrate. Capcom has officially announced a remake of the classic game ‘Resident Evil – Code: Veronica’, now titled ‘Resident Evil: Veronica’. the much-awaited title is set to release in 2027.
The announcement was made durings summer game fest 2026, where the developer unveiled the first look at the game. the remake will bring updated visuals, enhanced gameplay mechanics and a fresh experience while staying true to the original story.
According to a ANI report, the game follows Claire Redfield’s search for her brother Chris Redfield after the events of ‘Resident Evil 2’. their journey takes them to a mysterious island and later to an antarctic facility, where they face terrifying creatures and dangerous enemies.
Originally released in 2000, ‘Code: Veronica’ is considered one of the most important entries in the resident Evil series. fans have long demanded a remake, making the announcement one of the biggest highlights of this year’s gaming event.
While Capcom has confirmed a 2027 launch window, the company is yet to reveal an exact release date.
