The popular ‘Masters of the Universe’ is getting a new live-action movie nearly 40 years after the first film was released in 1987.
The original movie, based on Mattel’s famous action figures, starred Dolph Lundgren as He-Man. although it did not perform well at the box office, the characters remained popular through animated series, comics, and a recent Netflix revival.
According to a Hindustan Times report, the new ‘Masters of the Universe’ film, set to release in 2026, follows Prince Adam, a young warrior who discovers his destiny with the sword of power. to save the kingdom of Eternia from the evil Skeletor, Adam transforms into the powerful he-man.
The film stars Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man and Camila Mendes in a leading role. the cast also includes Idris Elba, Kristen Wiig, and Jared Leto.
Galitzine is known for his roles in ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’, ‘Bottoms’, and ‘The Idea of You’. For the role of He-Man, he underwent an intense physical transformation and said the experience pushed him to his limits.
The movie aims to bring the beloved hero back to theaters and introduce He-Man to a new generation of fans.
