Business Today will host the second edition of the BT India’s Most Sustainable Companies – Summit & Awards 2026 on June 6 in New Delhi, bringing together policymakers, corporate leaders, investors and sustainability experts to discuss India’s evolving green growth agenda and recognize organizations driving responsible business practices.
According to a Business Today press release, the summit is being presented by Maharashtra Tourism and is being held around World Environment Day. The event aims to contribute to ongoing discussions around climate action, sustainable development and India’s transition towards a resilient and low-carbon economy.
The summit will focus on key themes shaping the country’s sustainability landscape, including transition finance, decarbonisation strategies for hard-to-abate industries, clean energy adoption, resilient infrastructure, climate adaptation, ESG excellence and nature-positive development. Industry experts and decision-makers are expected to deliberate on how businesses can balance economic growth with environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
The event aligns with the vision of Narendra Modi for achieving net-zero emissions by 2070, along with initiatives such as Mission LiFE and the broader Atmanirbhar Bharat programme. Discussions will explore pathways through which India can continue its growth trajectory while advancing sustainability goals.
A key highlight of the event will be the BT India’s Most Sustainable Companies Awards 2026, which will honour organizations that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles, responsible governance and measurable social and environmental impact. The awards are supported by CareEdge Group as the official knowledge partner.
The awards process was overseen by an eminent jury led by Ramesh Chand and included experts from finance, sustainability, governance and academia. The panel featured representatives from organizations such as Deutsche Bank Group, The Energy and Resources Institute, InGovern, Institute of Rural Management Anand and Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
Following the success of its inaugural edition in 2025, the summit returns with an expanded agenda aimed at showcasing how sustainability is increasingly becoming a strategic business priority and a broader national mission. Organisers say the event will provide a platform for meaningful dialogue on the opportunities and challenges associated with India’s sustainable development journey.
As businesses face growing expectations from investors, regulators and consumers, the summit is expected to serve as a key forum for discussing practical solutions, innovative approaches and collaborative efforts needed to accelerate the country’s transition towards a greener and more inclusive future.
