Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) has appointed Rahj Kumar Agarwal as Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing for Zee TV, Zee Anmol and &TV, bringing an experienced media and entertainment marketing leader back into the organisation.
Agarwal announced the appointment through a LinkedIn post, calling it a new chapter in his professional journey. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading marketing strategy, brand positioning and audience engagement initiatives across the three television channels.
The appointment marks a return to Zee for Agarwal, who has previously held multiple marketing leadership roles within the company. During his earlier stint, he worked as Brand Lead for English Movies and Zindagi, and also served as Senior Brand Manager for Zindagi, contributing to the growth and positioning of the network’s entertainment properties.
Before rejoining Zee, Agarwal was associated with JioStar, where he played a key role in the marketing function for Colors. Most recently, he served as Senior Director – Marketing, following an earlier tenure as Director – Marketing for the channel. During his time there, he was involved in driving brand campaigns, audience engagement initiatives and promotional strategies for one of India’s leading general entertainment channels.
Over the years, Agarwal has built a diverse career across several prominent media and entertainment organisations. He has held leadership positions at The Walt Disney Company India and Times Television Network, where he worked on the lifestyle and entertainment channel Zoom.
His professional journey also includes a stint as Director at Panchmukhi Kitchen Appliances, adding entrepreneurial and business management experience to his marketing background. Earlier in his career, he worked as Assistant Marketing Manager at Star Entertainment Media, where he gained experience in brand building and media marketing.
With extensive experience spanning television broadcasting, entertainment, consumer marketing and media strategy, Agarwal is regarded as a seasoned marketing professional with a strong understanding of audience behaviour and content-led brand development.
His appointment comes at a time when broadcasters are increasingly focused on strengthening viewer engagement and expanding their reach in an evolving media landscape shaped by both television and digital consumption. Industry observers believe Agarwal’s experience across some of India’s leading media companies positions him well to drive marketing initiatives for Zee TV, Zee Anmol and &TV.
As Zee continues to strengthen its entertainment portfolio and audience connect, Agarwal is expected to play a key role in shaping brand strategy, enhancing visibility and supporting the network’s growth objectives across its flagship channels.
