Sony MAX is set to bring the World Television Premiere of ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ to viewers on May 31 at 1 pm, giving audiences another chance to experience the emotional and uplifting story that resonated strongly in cinemas.

Ahead of the premiere, the young stars of the film opened up about the friendships, memories and strong emotional bond they built during the making of the movie. The cast described the experience as much more than just a film shoot, with many calling it a journey that turned them into one big family. The details were shared as part of Sony MAX’s promotional outreach ahead of the television premiere.

Starring Aamir Khan alongside a group of real-life champions, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ became widely appreciated for its heartwarming storytelling, emotional depth and themes of togetherness, resilience and acceptance. Beyond the film’s narrative, the camaraderie among the cast members has now become one of the most talked-about aspects of the project.

Vedant Sharma, who plays Bantu in the film, recalled an emotional moment with choreographer Vijay Ganguly during the shoot. Sharing the memory, he said he comforted the choreographer when he was stressed ahead of a major dance sequence. “I told him, ‘This is not even a problem, Sir. What we go through in life is much more. Don’t worry, sir, sab ho jayega,’” Vedant shared, adding that the moment instantly eased the tension on set.

The film’s preparation reportedly involved nearly two years of workshops, basketball training sessions and rehearsals, allowing the cast to develop close friendships over time. Samvit Desai, who essays the role of Kareem, said the atmosphere on set always felt joyful and supportive.

“We were together for almost two years playing basketball, doing workshops, celebrating birthdays, and partying. It was like one big family. There was absolutely no competition or jealousy among us,” Samvit said, while also thanking Aamir Khan, director Prasanna and the crew for making the environment warm and encouraging.

Rishabh Jain, who portrays Raju, remembered the excitement of stepping into a basketball stadium wearing team jerseys during one of the key sequences in the film. He said the cast would often spend time together in vanity vans, joking around and playing games between shoots.

“I completely forgot about missing home because these guys truly became my magical family,” he shared.

Naman Misra, who plays Hargovind, described the overall experience as “100% pure masti, enjoyment and happiness,” while also speaking about how he developed a love for basketball despite being new to the sport.

Meanwhile, Aroush Datta, who portrays Satbir, spoke about how relatable the story felt to him personally. “Ye film hamari zindagi ke baare mein hi ho,” he said, adding that like his character, he too believes in living independently without seeking sympathy from others.

With its television premiere now scheduled on Sony MAX, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is expected to reach a wider family audience across the country, carrying forward the emotional warmth and message of inclusivity that connected deeply with viewers during its theatrical run.
