Material has announced the appointment of Raman Kalra as President for Asia Pacific (APAC), marking a strategic move as the company looks to strengthen its footprint across the region.
In a Business Wire statement, the company said Kalra’s appointment comes at a time when Material is expanding its global capabilities across consumer insights, brand strategy, product innovation and marketing technology. He will lead operations across APAC, focusing on bringing AI-driven, data- and technology-enabled solutions closer to both global and regional clients operating in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets.
Material CEO Laila Worrell described the development as timely, noting that the industry is undergoing a significant transformation. She said Kalra’s experience in AI-led business transformation and his deep understanding of the Asia Pacific landscape make him well-suited to lead the company’s next phase of growth in the region.
Kalra, who specialises in business transformation and demand engineering through data-backed insights, is expected to work closely with global teams to deliver Material’s integrated capabilities spanning insights, design and marketing technology. His role will involve aligning strategy with execution to help clients navigate increasingly complex and competitive markets.
Commenting on his new role, Kalra said the current phase presents a pivotal opportunity to rethink how brands grow, driven by the convergence of human insights and AI-first technologies. He added that he looks forward to leveraging Material’s legacy in behavioural insights to build technology-led solutions that not only help clients understand their markets but also actively shape them.
The appointment signals Material’s continued focus on scaling its presence in APAC, as companies increasingly look to combine data intelligence with advanced technology to drive performance and long-term growth.
