The Government of Andhra Pradesh is taking steps toward integrating artificial intelligence into its tourism and cultural ecosystem following a high-level meeting between state officials and representatives from Eros Innovation. The discussions focused on exploring how emerging technologies can enhance cultural tourism experiences while positioning the state as a hub for advanced digital innovation.
According to a Eros Innovation press release, the meeting was held under the broader vision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who has emphasised the importance of building Andhra Pradesh into a global centre for advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence. The interaction brought together senior government representatives and the leadership team from Eros Innovation to examine opportunities for collaboration in developing new technology-driven tourism initiatives.
The meeting was led by Kandula Durgesh, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Cinematography, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Representing Eros Innovation were Vikram Tanna, CEO – Eros Universe and Eros Now; Piyush Bhatia, Group Chief Marketing Officer; and Dr. Shilpa Desai, CEO – Eros Wellness R&D.
Senior officials from the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority also participated in the discussions, including Deputy Chief Executive Officer A. Srinivas and Head of Investments Sathya Prabha. The meeting explored ways in which advanced artificial intelligence technologies could be used to create a new cultural tourism ecosystem in the state.
A key focus of the discussion was the potential development of what is being described as the world’s first Cultural AI ecosystem for tourism. The proposed initiative would be powered by Eros Innovation’s Large Cultural Models (LCM), a specialised form of artificial intelligence designed to interpret and understand Indian culture, mythology, languages and storytelling traditions.
If implemented, the initiative aims to transform the tourism experience across Andhra Pradesh by building immersive digital journeys around temples, heritage sites and regional cultural narratives. These technology-driven experiences could allow visitors to engage more deeply with the state’s historical and cultural heritage through interactive storytelling and AI-powered platforms.
The discussions also highlighted the potential economic impact of such an ecosystem. By combining tourism, digital platforms and creative storytelling, the collaboration could open new opportunities for young creators, artists, designers and filmmakers to participate in the growing creator economy and the broader orange economy. Officials believe this approach could help develop globally distributed cultural experiences centred on the heritage of Andhra Pradesh.
Beyond tourism promotion, the initiative could also position the state as a leader in the emerging space of cultural technology and immersive heritage experiences. By integrating artificial intelligence with traditional storytelling and cultural assets, Andhra Pradesh aims to expand its cultural footprint internationally while encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship in the digital economy.
Both the state government and Eros Innovation agreed to continue working together to explore initiatives that align with Andhra Pradesh’s long-term vision of integrating technology, culture and tourism. The collaboration is expected to focus on building new platforms and experiences that support economic growth while showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage to a global audience.
