Netflix has strengthened its push into interactive entertainment with the appointment of Magali Huot as Director of Games Marketing, Mainstream Games, marking another step in the company’s strategy to expand its gaming ecosystem.
Huot, a seasoned marketing and gaming industry executive, will work alongside Dan Sutton to scale the streaming platform’s portfolio of accessible and mass-market gaming titles as Netflix continues to broaden its entertainment offerings beyond traditional streaming.
Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Huot described the shift as part of a broader transformation in how audiences engage with entertainment.
“Entertainment isn’t passive anymore, it’s participatory,” she wrote, noting that gaming increasingly allows audiences to interact with their favourite story worlds across devices, including cloud platforms and connected TVs.
Huot joins Netflix from Dentsu, where she served as Senior Vice President of Global Gaming Strategy. Her professional background includes leadership roles at major media and technology companies such as YouTube and Warner Bros., where she focused on developing gaming and digital engagement strategies.
Her appointment underscores Netflix’s broader ambition to evolve from a traditional streaming platform into a comprehensive entertainment ecosystem that integrates films, series, and interactive gaming experiences within its subscription model.
Over the past few years, Netflix has steadily expanded its gaming initiatives, offering mobile games linked to its popular titles and experimenting with interactive storytelling formats. With Huot’s expertise in global gaming strategy, the company is expected to accelerate efforts to bring gaming deeper into its core platform and scale its presence in the mainstream gaming market.
The move signals Netflix’s intention to move beyond the experimental phase of gaming and establish it as a core pillar of its long-term entertainment strategy, leveraging storytelling, technology, and global audience engagement.
