India’s national broadcaster Prasar Bharati’s mobile application, ‘NewsOnAir’, accounted for the highest digital audience in France apart from India, and followed by the USA, Australia, United Kingdom, Fiji, Canada, UAE, New Zealand, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia.
Apart from being a widely used mobile application in France, All India Radio’s Vividh Bharati has also been successful in garnering a huge audience base there, with AIR Mhadei Panaji and AIR Dharmapuri close behind, according to PBNS.
Interestingly, Vividh Bharati Mumbai also appeared as All India Radio’s one of the most popular streams listened to in the United States, followed by FM Gold Delhi and FM Rainbow Delhi and more.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) earlier in January had stated that “digital channels of Prasar Bharati across DD and Akashvani have registered more than 100 percent growth, clocking over a billion digital views and over six billion digital watch minutes”.
The Ministry further stated that Prasar Bharati’s official mobile application ‘NewsOnAir’, a truly global digital platform, had added more than 2.5 million users with the platform registering over 300 million views. The app is easily available on both iOS and Android with features like live TV, live radio, text news and news podcast, among others.
